Stories about coffee 2006
Ladies podium for the 2006 edition. The three awarded short stories were written by three very different authors, but having in common the passion for writing: Silvia Faini with her short story "Il miglior caffè del mondo" (The best coffee of the world); neat and linear writing set in a landscape where the white colour of snow is the leading element, despite an increasing temperature.
Monica Gentile with "Concetta Cafè", the warm, theatrical, folkloristic soul of the South, of a Sicily where superstition, hearsays and gossips are integral and significant part of everyday life. Daniela Raimondi with "Cafezal", the story of a woman leaving a famished Italy to emigrate to America, who has to accept and then build a new life.
The edition of the 2006 contest was accompanied by a new cultural initiative. The first "action" of Corto Moak, Short-film competition connecting film language to coffee was about to start.
